About My Favorite Theater
The Chicago Tribune ran a story about the theater where I work. It's a nice story, emphasizing the "well-kept secret" side of things. It quoted some regulars I probably know by sight but not by name; and Kenny, the nicest security guard in the world; but not me. Not that I mind. I'm enough of a celebrity as it is.
Posted by mike, October 27, 2005 9:30 PMHey, congrats on the article. It's a great place to see a movie. This quote made me laugh, though.
"The patrons, many of whom are of a vintage similar to the films, say that the black-and-white-movie crowd is much less likely to take disruptive cell phone calls at a critical moment. There are fewer children screaming for candy or adults entering and leaving during the show."
This, of course, is bullshit. The elderly audience is much like the teenage audience: annoying. Give me the thirty to fifty year old crowd anyday. But it's a minor complaint. The theater is way cool. Especially that young man who sells me tickets. He's cute.
