No, I wasn't in Thailand when the earthquake and tsunamis hit. I'm safe at home, more or less in one piece, and headed for bed. More details later.

It sounds like Thailand did not get it as bad as some places. "Only" 1,600 confirmed deaths this morning out of 67,000+ throughout Asia. Terrible.
Posted by: shane at December 29, 2004 8:04 AMI think they got off easier because the earthquake hit on the opposite side of the Indonesian island. Maybe it slowed the waves.
