Posted by mike, August 19, 2004 4:20 PMEuroFABULOUS! I am now officially fighting the urge to paint our kitchen to match the car. What's with that creepy bathroom shot with the mommy and the little boy, though?
Posted by: KL at August 19, 2004 6:52 PMI agree that every album on that top 70s list deserves to be there, except for 45 of them. :-P
Actually, I've never listened to 3/4 of them all the way through, and never heard of about 1/4 of them. I was surprised no Aerosmith was on it. I was also surprised that Lennon's Imagine was not on it, though I agree that Plastic One Band was better. I'm not complaining, though. It is so subjective, and I am definitely not Mr. 1970s.
Posted by: shane at August 20, 2004 8:38 AMI just noticed their list of things that didn't make the list. No Bruce, no Sabbath, no Zappa, no Kinks, no Joplin, no Police, no AC/DC, no New York Dolls. I'm even more impressed that they came up with a list at all.
Posted by: mike at August 20, 2004 9:24 AMOh oh oh! They have a top 100 albums of the 80s (http://www.pitchforkmedia.com/top/80s/) and of the 90s (http://www.pitchforkmedia.com/top/90s/). Now it's argument time!
Posted by: mike at August 20, 2004 9:26 AMIt's odd that I knew a lot more of the albums from the 1980s list than from the 1990s list.
Posted by: mike at August 20, 2004 10:05 AMObviously they are trying to be "cool" and "edgy." Sonic Youth tops the 1980s list? Huh. But that is fine. I'd rather have that than a list that basically amounts to a Billboard chart summary. Maybe I'll hit the bargain bins and check some of the groups out that I had never heard of.
Posted by: shane at August 20, 2004 10:39 AMI LOVE "Who is that with Jeremy?" I found it last month. I just like seeing the stars, I admit it. Sign me up for National Enquirer.
Posted by: Amy at August 20, 2004 10:43 AMWho are Jeremy's parents? They seem pretty well-connected (there's a reference to his dad having worked on a movie). I don't think just any baby could get Halle Berry to hold him.
Posted by: rebecca at August 20, 2004 12:01 PMHis dad used to be an actor (small-time, I think), and they live in an area of NYC where they often run into show-biz people. That's about all he reveals on the website, I think.
Posted by: Amy at August 20, 2004 2:10 PMA blog reader who apparently wishes to remain anonymous sends this link to Jeremy's father's listing on the IMDB.
Posted by: rebecca at August 21, 2004 2:33 PMHm. So I guess html doesn't work in these comments. Anyway, the URL is:

His roles were indeed impressive: Chez Cheez Guy, Harlan, Squirrelly assistant, Barry, Beef, Chuckie Dipple, Bubba Beauregard, Man.
Oh, that was him!?! I loved him as Man!!!
Posted by: mike at August 23, 2004 12:59 PMI thought he was better as Squirrelly Assistant, myself.
