The Goatdog Method
I recently had a method of heating up corn tortillas named after me.
Yes, my life is that boring.
Posted by mike, March 29, 2005 1:55 PMIf I wasn't too lazy to create an account, I was going to comment on it that I tried the goatdog method of heating a tortilla, and it burned down my house and killed my dog. :-P
Posted by: shane at March 29, 2005 2:02 PMI don't think it's boring...it's cool. I'll have to give it a try the next time I make tacos for myself :-)
Posted by: Kris at March 29, 2005 2:35 PMI don't find that heating them up makes much of a difference to me. I usually put so much stuff in the taco that it doesn't matter. So I just don't bother. A lot of that is pure laziness, though.
Posted by: shane at March 29, 2005 3:23 PMWith the corn tortillas that I like (hand-made right here in town), I have found that if you don't heat them up, they're too crumbly.
Posted by: mike at March 29, 2005 3:48 PMThis is the first time I ever thought about how I heat up a tortilla. Let's see. If I have the flour tortillas I don't bother. If I buy authentic yummy tortillas I usually put them in a papertowel and throw them in the microwave for about five to ten seconds. Next time I'll use The Goatdog method to see if Mike is right. If he's wrong I will smite him.
Posted by: Shawn at March 30, 2005 11:03 AMMy sister puts a stack of them in the oven with a wet paper towel between each one. The oven is on a low temperature. I'm not sure how long this takes, but you don't have to do them one at a time.
